Paul learned he has a tumor in his throat at the midline base of his tongue diagnosed as #1 T3-T4a, N0, M0 squamous cell carcinoma, HPV positive. This means that the tumor is cancer, it is large, there is no cancer anywhere else in his body and most likely caused by the HPV virus. The recommended treatment is aggressive radiation and chemo therapy for 6-7 weeks. Cure is the goal of his entire health care team and we feel grateful to be at the Mayo Clinic and living so close! His treatment will be every day M-F for the next 6-7 weeks. We ask for your prayers as Paul's body goes through this aggressive treatment in order to be cured.
