Paul Mentier

Welcome to the story of one tough bastard, Paul “Rusty” Mentier.

On Sunday, January 7, 2018, Paul suffered (and survived) cardiac arrest.  He went down not once but TWICE; thanks to the efforts of the Lake Orion Fire Department and Star EMS he is alive today.

We are happy to report that Paul woke up on Sunday January 14th answering questions, following commands and letting us know he had to “go to the bathroom.”  He was removed from the ventilator and stared talking immediately.  He will soon be moved to inpatient cardiac rehabilitation to help him get back to life.

The good news is he is on a long road to recovery.  The bad news is after his FMLA expires with his current employer (12 weeks) he will be faced with medical bills from this whole ordeal.

Thanks to all who have continued to check in on his progress.  We appreciate all the well wishes and prayers!
