Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.
Dad's story starts towards the end of June when he was having a hard time "finding" his golf ball. This led him to an eye doctor appointment on July 7th with Dr Miller. We all thought he might finally need glasses.  Although his vision was fine, his doctor scheduled him for another test on July 12th. It was a visual field study test. The results of that test showed a deficit with both eyes in the lower right quadrant. From there, July 14th Dad had his first MRI.  That led us to Duke. On July 18th Mom and Dad went to meet with Dr. Allan Friedman, and everything changed. Within 48 hours Dad was being admitted to Duke for surgery....and the journey began.
Dr. Friedman and his team removed all that they could.
Stage 4 glioblastoma with multiple tumors in which one is inoperable.
Six days after surgery, Dad was moved to Moore Regional Hospital for inpatient rehabilitation.
