Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On December 14, 2016, Paul had a massive heart attack while at work. We believe it is a miracle that he survived this traumatic event and had over five good years. He did so well, that we almost forgot about the damage done to his heart. But this winter, he started to lose strength and experience some health complications. These complications, we came to find out, were due to a weakening heart, which resulted in wounds that were not healing, as well as blood clots in his heart, lungs, and legs. During a stay in the ICU at Unity in Fridley, we were heartbroken to find out that there is nothing that the doctors can physically do.

(Side note: As his daughter, I was so encouraged and blessed to see that even though his body is failing, my Dad was sharing the love of Christ with everyone he came in contact with at the hospital. I got to hear him pray for doctors and nurses and nurses' aides and bless them. They all loved him and knew he was a special man.)

Paul chose, and we all support, in-home hospice care. He was able to come home via medical transport the evening of Friday, May 13th -- just in time for his and Sandy's 45th Wedding Anniversary on Saturday. We are all happy he is home and want to savor and enjoy the days we have left--however many the Lord gives us. He is trusting in Jesus and he knows that his future is secure in Christ.
