Paul Galvin

Eight years ago today Paul was diagnosed with this cruel disease, glioblastoma stage IV .   We have now so sadly reached the beginning of the end.  Earlier this week Paul was admitted to the hospice in Letterkenny, Donegal.  Our hearts are breaking as we write these words because we will never be ready to let him go.  We know the blessings we received each and every day during the last eight years are not granted to all and we have truly cherished what we were given.  We have lived and made memories, and raised our girls.  Through it all - three major brain surgeries, sixty plus rounds of radiation, and years of experimental treatments - Paul being Paul, stoically, just got on with living. This disease has cheated us, it has chipped away at our beautiful Paul throughout the years. But through all this, the defiant soul of this great husband, father and friend still kept strongly shining through.  We have shared  days, months and years which would have never been made possible without the support of family, friends and angels, and all of you will never truly know the sheer gratitude we have for you. So, in closing, we are again grateful for all the prayers and thoughts that have been showered upon him and in return we will keep you  posted as we move through these dark days ahead.
