Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. Paul loves life and people and enjoys socializing and grilling for his many friends and brothers. He is the husband of Dixie Edwards.  He has 2 children- Jed-Riley Edwards (29), and Jessie-Marie Edwards (28).  He has three grandchildren- Alden (9), Bryer (4) and Millee-Kate (2) whom he loves spending time with and they call him "Bop".   Although he only has 3 biological grandchildren there are many other nieces and nephews and friends children who love him like a grandfather and father figure.   Paul was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the tonsil on September 22, 2017.   He has a definite spot on his right tonsil but has lymph nodes that are suspicious on the left spot as well.  Paul loves life and people and he is expecting to make a full recovery and get back to his normal life in Okolona, MS.  Although he knows the treatment is going to be hard and vigorous he has the best attitude and tells everyone he is not going to let this beat him.  Sickness came at the beginning of deer season, a favorite time for Paul.  Although he will probably miss this season he hopes to be well and ready to crappie fish in the spring. He plans on making a full recovery and getting back out there to hunt and fish. and spend time with family and special friends.  We have to trust God's timing and his plan for Paul's life.  Please continue to pray for Paul and his endurance and health during this time.  Paul feels like he made the right decision to come to MD Anderson for treatment.  Pray for the team here at MD Anderson as well as they all work very hard in treating him.  He will have to take 33 rounds of radiation and 6 rounds of chemotherapy.
