Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

For the last several months Paul and Bonnie have been trying to discover the reason for health changes in Paul.  After numerous Doctor appointments and tests Paul was unfortunately diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) on Friday January 18, 2019.

While the diagnosis explains many of the symptoms experienced by Paul it was definitely not what they wanted to hear.  ALS is a very scary disease with no cure.  They have been learning things they never wanted to know.  Paul’s most prominent symptoms are affecting his swallowing and breathing.

Two weeks ago Paul ended up in Swedish hospital with a choking scare.   After stabilizing his condition, he was admitted and many additional tests took place, equipment was ordered and he met the team of Doctors that will be in charge of his care.  A Neurologist,  Pulmonologist and Hematologist.  Of course the main caregivers will be Bonnie and his family.

The love and support from family and friends has been overwhelming and so appreciated.  Paul and Bonnie’s world has been spinning as they try to comprehend the disease, learn what the future holds and make decisions that affect them both.
