Hello friends and family. I wanted to (unfortunately once again) tell another story. This time it is for my Sweetie, Paul. Paul is in the ICU on a ventilator. He went into cardiac arrest just as we were about to bring our last load from our old house into the new one on Friday, April 30. He stopped breathing and his heart stopped beating. We cannot be thankful enough for our friends (and realtors) Mark and Jeff, who immediately started CPR until paramedics arrived. Two doctors told me yesterday that if they had not done that, he would not be with us.
When the paramedics arrived and took over, they had to shock him with a defibrillator FOUR times to bring him back. They broke his sternum and four ribs, but I could not be more thankful that his heart is beating!!! Now....let's get him breathing on his own again! They have cooled his body temperature and the ventilator is still in play. I try to talk to him, praying he can hear me even though he's heavily sedated. I'm telling him that he reminded me just yesterday that he cannot wait to really start our retirement! Between losing my sister, Colleen, two months ago, trying to buy, sell a house, move, all while downsizing by 2,000 square feet, we are ready for something more fun! I told him he has to kick butt and get out of here so we do just that!
Probably goes without saying, but we need a whole lot of prayers. We have a long road ahead of us!
