On Thursday, October 26th Paul was honored by his dental colleagues in Austin TX at the annual conference of the American Society for Dental Aesthetics for his service to the profession. He had an opportunity to see longtime dental friends and greet new friends. Paul was accompanied by his wife, Gail, son, Bill, daughter-in-law Jeni, daughter, Grayce and son-in-law, Dan. The conference was a 2017 highlight for Paul and he was looking forward to it with much anticipation. Additionally, over the weekend, Paul celebrated his 87th birthday.
Unfortunately, upon his return to Minneapolis, Paul fell and was taken to Methodist Hospital ER on Sunday 10/29 in the morning. After 2 CT scans, we learned that he suffered a traumatic brain injury. He was moved from the ER to ICU in the mid-afternoon. He rested comfortably with the family listed above as well as son, Paul J., and daughter-in-law, Gwen. Dr. Doug and Anna Mae Lambert joined us with the priest for last rites. Other friends and family have visited in the evening. He perks up when people talk with him; however, he is not able to speak.
On Monday, Paul has been resting with his family. There has been no change to his status. We will provide updates as we learn more. Thank you for your prayers.
