In April 2020, I was diagnosed with Stage IIIC ovarian high grade serous carcinoma. In early May, I began chemotherapy and had 3 treatments. I no longer needed to highlight my hair, but lost my curls & all hair. In July, I had a hysterectomy and was in the hospital several days longer than anticipated as I needed a blood transfusion. In the fall, I had 3 more chemotherapy treatments and my last treatment was in October, 2020. I then started the University of Wisconsin Clinical Trial, followed by one in Chicago - neither of which bore any fruit. In early January 2021, my CT scan revealed a recurrence of cancer & I have several masses. It is not curable. Within a month, the CT scans showed the masses are growing, which is causing significant pain. I want to recognize all the ways people have & continue to support me on this journey. If you know me, you know it's so much easier for me to give help rather than be the recipient, I am learning.
