On January 11, 2017 Patti, Wife, Mom, Grandma, Dear Sister, Aunt and Friend was diagnosed with advanced metastatic Cholangiocaricoma, a rare bile duct cancer. The tumor in her bile duct has grown into her liver and her mesentery. For those of you that know Patti, you know she is a spry, spunky, energetic 66 year old and she is ready to fight the good fight. She says her symbol is the "fighting Irish dude" from the Notre Dame logo. Fists up!

Patti and Kim were snowbirding for the first time post-retirement in Bonita Springs, Florida and she went jaundice just 5 days after arriving. Denise, Patti's sister, convinced Mom to get to the doctor (again, for those that know Mom, you know she's also stubborn when it comes to doctors!). After a 10-day hospital stay at Gulf Coast, Mom embarked on her journey to learn more. After obtaining a 2nd opinion at Mayo, Mom is now back in Florida receiving chemo for a couple months. She'll be back to Wisconsin in the middle of April and will continue treatment.

Here we will share Mom's story. Here we will help her fight this awful, nasty cancer. Here we will support, love, pray and care for her.
