In late May, Patrick was diagnosed with a synovial sarcoma in his leg. Sarcomas are soft tissue cancers and account for less than 1% of all cancer diagnoses with fewer than 1000 people a year diagnosed with synovial sarcoma. Fortunately, the cancer had not spread but will require chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery over the next few months.
