On August 28, Patti visited her family physician seeking relief from swelling in her leg.  She was diagnosed with bloods clots, admitted to Scottsdale Osborn and was treated with a blood thinner and a filter.  However, Patti had a reaction to the blood thinner so a biopsy was performed.  By the end of the week it was determined she had Grade One uterine cancer.  On September 11 Patti had a CAT scan which revealed that she had not only the mass in her uterus, but also lesions on the liver and  a growth in the pancreas.  She returned to Scottsdale Osborn on Saturday, September 16 with swelling and immobility of the  other leg.   A few days later a liver biopsy was performed and on Wednesday,  September 20,  just a week after her 71st birthday, we learned she has advanced stage pancreatic cancer.  She went home the following evening and has been resting with her pups Gizmo and Coco.  Last week, Patti received 5 radiation treatments to control bleeding from the uterus.  This Friday she is scheduled to begin chemotherapy.

Patti has connected with Hospice of the Valley, today her social worker visited.  She is tired and has some discomfort but in true Patti fashion she does not complain.  Her appetite has diminished but she still loves her pepperoni pizza with easy sauce from Pizza Hut & butter pecan ice cream!  If you have Patti's number please call or text her.  She would love for friends to visit.  If you need directions to her home or her number please send me a note.  I will continue to update her progress.
