I was diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) in the early 2000's. I learned what to expect with this disorder. Unfortunately, there was no way of knowing what foods would and would not cause a flare up. In mid 2020, I started experiencing bleeding. I was not concerned because it do not cause me to go to the ED. However, as the symptoms persisted, I knew it was time to get it checked out. After speaking to my Gastroenterologist, she decided to do a colonoscopy. She found a lesion and decided to biopsy it. A week later, February 7,2022 I received the results of Squamous Carcinoma in Sti. I was more shell shocked than anything. I met with an Oncologist to determine the treatment plan and an a surgeon to determine if I would need surgery. Treatment consist of Chemo and Radiation Therapy. All results are in from the CT and the biopsy... the cancer has not metastatic and I do not need surgery. I thank God for the outcome thus far and I thank Him for the outcomes to follow!! I am still Pat.. just have a story to tell!! #GodsChild73 #TeamPat
