Thank you to everyone concerned about Mom and her recovery and progress.  It was suggested I create this site to make it easier to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On Wednesday, July 25, Mom (Pat) went downtown Chicago to the Driehaus Museum by herself.  It is not unusual for her to go into the city by herself, she has been doing it since she was 15 or 16 years old and loves to explore new things.  She had taken the train downtown and the water taxi to Michigan Avenue then walked to the museum.  She had her cane with her for stability and from what she could remember she felt great!  After her visit at the museum, she was headed to Lawry's for something to eat.  We believe, somewhere between the museum and Lawry's she fell.  Some good bystanders must have helped her and she was taken by ambulance to Northwestern Memorial Hospital which is only a few blocks away.  Although she went downtown alone, it was a good thing she was around people that could get her help in time to save her life.  If she had been home alone, things may have turned out differently.
