I was recently diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Soon I will be starting chemotherapy with a view towards shrinking the tumor so I can have surgery when the chemo concludes. I feel fortunate to be working with a gifted team from UCSF at Mission Bay, San Francisco.
This week I will be having a port placed and the following week- the first biopsy of two -one before and one after the administration of the study drug PEGPH20.
After that, I will begin a protocol of chemotherapy (Gemcitabine and Abraxane) plus the study drug three times a month for four months.
My friends and family are wonderfully supportive and I feel embraced by all of them.
