Welcome to Pat's CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.
Pat will be undergoing Lung Volume Reduction surgery (LVRS) on July 31st at St. Mary's/Mayo in Rochester, Mn. The surgery will take approximately 6 hours.
For surgery day and the days following, Pat will have her children and family with her to help support her during this time. We are hopeful for a speedy recovery. They estimate a 10 day hospital stay. Based on what the doctor recommendations, will determine if Pat will return home after her hospital stay or will temporarily stay in a home health care facility until she able to return back to her home. We are hopeful she will bounce right back, in Pat style (and fashion of course), to playing with her grand kids, tending to her flowers, watching the hummingbirds and fluttering around in the pool. The doctors indicate her recovery is expected take 4-6 months.
