Our beloved Papa was diagnosed with Stage IIIb lung cancer in early March. After lots of scans, labwork, & a steady decline in his inability to breathe...he finally started Chemotherapy in early April. There was talk of an immunotherapy trial, but for lots of reasons, they proceeded instead with standard chemo, which consists of CARBOplatin and Paclitaxel (among other anti-nausea, etc. drugs). The plan is to shrink the tumor in his lung and stop the metastasized cancer from spreading further. This should drastically improve his breathing. He'll do a 21 day cycle of chemo drugs, and radiation daily. Papa is happy to get started...and super excited to be able to breathe better again! Cancer messed with the wrong Papa...
