We are so grateful for your prayers! Last night was another rough night with the feeding tube coming out 3 times (one of which the nurse did not have it in far enough). That meant 3 xrays & no sleep! He hasn't had any good amount of sleep since 2/28!!!! He only gets moments of sleep at a time.
Today has been another day of improvement! Bill walked @ 90 feet with less assistance & was even able to go around the corner of the nurses station! The therapist explained the live cells of his brain are taking over the dead ones & are helping him to learn to balance himself.
The occupational therapist is VERY PLEASED with his continued improvement & we tell them (and the dr's) many people are praying & how thankful we are to God for what He is doing. His speech therapist is also very pleased with his progress.
Yesterday while the nurse & physical therapist was there, another person came to tend to him, the physical therapist said, come in & join the party! Bill said, "Well I didn't get an invitation!" They love his sense of humor & I do too!
PEG tube update: believe or not there is a huge shortage of PEG tubes, so that is delayed. This means he cannot resume coumadin (blood thinner) until he gets it. That means he cannot be transferred to rehab until he is on a therapeutic level of coumadin.
Praising God for: less hiccups & drainage, increased strength & balance, sense of humor, good caregivers, great therapists who love their jobs, pastor's visits.
Pray for: SLEEP for his body to gain more strength, continued improvement in balance, full swallow ability, strenth & wisdom of caregivers, PEG tube to be received inserted in God's timeframe.
