Ten years ago I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. I have been blessed to have been able to manage the symptoms with medicines until the past year & a half. In January of this year, my doctors suggested I have Deep Brain Stimulation surgery. After 7 months of tests & a lot of hurry up & wait, I now have my surgery dates. Stage 1 surgery will be August 24th @ 9:00 am & Stage 2 on September 2nd @ 8:00 am, both of which will be done at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. I'm grateful to be able to use this website to help keep family & friends updated. I'm also hopeful that this will help those who either have this disease or know someone who does, become aware of this treatment option.
