Thank you visiting  Owen' s Caring Bridge website, a site to keep you informed of His  journey in fighting this rare form of cancer and to invite you all to be our prayer warriors.  For those of you who have never used this website, it's a great way to  keep you all in formed  of his progress as many of you, like our own children, are thousands of miles away, and in different time zones.  We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement as we walk this unknown path ahead of us. What we do know, is that our faith will help carry us through.
To many of you, this comes as a surprise the quickness that this all developed. Indeed to us too! Mid October, over the course of a week, he felt abdominal pain  and before long  jaundice set in, landing us at Walter Reed National Military  Medical Center, (known affectionately as Bethesda to U.S. Navy folks) where they quickly performed an endoscopy thinking it was a gallstone. It was then they realized it was a mass blocking his bile duct, for which they took a biopsy and inserted a stent to help the bile to flow. We waited patiently each day, knowing it would take a week for the results. A few days just short of his 39th birthday, he received the call that indeed it was cancer, a rare form, called small cell neuro endocrine tumor.
