In the last few weeks, we’ve noticed decreased coordination, difficulty focusing, and trouble walking and climbing stairs, among other concerning observations. We took him to Lurie Children's for an MRI, and it showed a tumor in his cerebellum and brain stem, making it inoperable. A biopsy on April 20th confirmed that it was DIPG, an incredibly rare brain cancer. We will start with radiation and are exploring clinical trials post radiation. Owen is a tough kiddo who's been studying how to be a ninja for the past year, so we're attacking this at every angle we can.
