On Tuesday August 22 I started having contractions around midnight. The contractions got a lot stronger to the point I couldn't sleep. I then called the nurse on line and she told me to come in. After waking Kyle up and getting ready we left the house around 3am. We finally got admitted around 3:30 am. They checked to see if my water had broken, then checked to see if I was dilated. They found my water had broke and I was dilated to a 4. I then had many iv's going into my arms to try and stop labor. Within an hour I got checked again and was fully dilated then we had about 10 people in our room trying to prep me for an emergency c-section. Everything happened so fast Kyle was just getting into the OR when they started to cut me. I didn't have an meds the entire time until the OR so I was finally able to relax a bit. They pulled out our sweet little boy at 6:35am. He had his umbilical cord wrapped around his neck almost 3 times. After he was out of me the NICU team started to work on him as he wasn't crying. Those few minutes felt like hours. We finally heard him cry. The NICU team then took him out of the room and Kyle followed. Owen weighted in at 3lbs 7oz and was 2 months 1 day early. After I got out of the OR I had to wait to see our sweet baby boy as I couldn't walk. When I finally saw him, he was hooked up to a lot of machines and had a lot of Iv's. He had a cpap , machine to help with his breathing. He is one strong little boy and we couldn't have asked for a better baby. He is our little fighter.
