Owen Christianson

As some of you have heard, Owen had an unexpected visit to the emergency department on Sunday 11/28, for what he thought was the stomach flu. After being transferred to the University of Minnesota and conducting many tests, we got some very hard news. Owen has been diagnosed with ALL which is a type of Leukemia. As you can imagine this news is heartbreaking for all of us. The doctors say that we have a lengthy fight ahead of us. Owen will probably be in the hospital for a couple of months undergoing chemotherapy. And then continuing with the chemo for 2-3 years, every few weeks. At this point, we are just trying to get his liver to function on its own, so he can get off of dialysis. As you can imagine, this has been extremely hard on my family. Ty (Owens Dad) has been at the hospital everyday to be there for Owen. Tina (Owens Mom) came home from Texas to be able to be by his side as well. Owen’s brothers & sister have not been able to visit, but talk to Owen frequently through phone calls and text messages. We will post updates on here as frequently as we can.
