Clark Darwin Our Personal Superman

First post: Jun 25, 2016 Latest post: Oct 6, 2016
Welcome friends and family! We've created this to keep you updated on our upcoming journey with Clark. Our Personal Superman, Clark was born in 2009 with a mild subaortic stenosis and a bicuspid aortic valve. We were told early on that eventually we might need to intervene with surgery for the subaortic stenosis. On May 13th Clark went to the cardiologist for a routine checkup. It was determined that his left ventricular membrane has become thicker and is starting to block his aortic valve and cause a leak. His cardiologist sent his case down to MUSC in Charleston to be reviewed. The surgeons determined he definitely required surgery. Needless to say we were a little shocked. We thought we were years away from this if ever. Since we do not have family in Charleston and this would require us to travel we began to explore options in Dallas and Houston. We have decided to go to Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. We meet with Cardiologist, Dr. Franklin on Tuesday, June 28th to run tests. We have a consult with the surgeon, Dr. Fraser on Thursday, June 30th. Clark is scheduled to have a Subaortic Membrane Resection on Wednesday, July 6th. We appreciate all your thoughts and prayers. We have already seen them working during this journey.

Romans 5:1-2 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.
