Operation Kick Ass. It's the name my mom, Mary, has given to her journey with cancer thus far. A journey that, unbeknownst to her, began back in April 2017.
April 2017 - Mary begins experiencing kidney issues and sees a urologist to determine the cause. May 2017 - Kidney function continues to worsen. June 2017 - Stents are placed in each of her ureters to allow for proper drainage of her kidneys. Mid July 2017 - After further tests and a tissue biopsy, doctors find signet cell adenocarcinoma in her stomach. July 21, 2017 - Mary is officially diagnosed with gastric (stomach) cancer and Operation Kick Ass begins.
And the rest of this story? It's a story of recovery, not of treatment. A story of healing, not of illness. And we feel so blessed to have your help in writing it. With your love, your hope, your prayers, and your support.
