Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.  Please leave a note for Oodie here!

Oodie was in a  serious car accident on Friday, November 20, 2020.  She  was not far from home and was injured by someone driving too fast who lost control of their vehicle.

She sustained a left ankle fracture, left clavicle fracture, sternum, ribs and vertebral processes fractures.  The ankle fracture has been stabilized with a fixator, but will require more extensive surgery in a couple of weeks. The other injuries make movement very painful, but they require no more surgery at this time.   She is alert, oriented and able to follow all directions.

So, what does this mean?  I am afraid a lengthy hospital stay as well as a rehabilitation stay. She is mentally capable of following commands but pain limits her motions. Mission Hospital  is allowing one visitor a day, which is good so family can be with her to some degree.    She did sit in a chair for a couple of hours on Sunday which was a major accomplishment!!  Oodie is doing well considering the amount of trauma her body has been through and is proving  she is a "tough old bird".

We are asking for specific prayers of physical and emotional healing, no pneumonia or COVID.

We appreciate all the love and prayers and will try to keep this page current with the information about her progression.
