Frank Sanchez One Step at a Time

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

My dad, Frank Jerome Sanchez, was diagnosed with AML Leukemia in 2017. A team of New Mexico doctors from UNMH and a team of doctors in Texas at UT Southwestern in Dallas agreed then that chemotherapy was keeping his Leukemia at bay. He was in remission for more than a year. In that year he became a grandpa -  truly the greatest gift. Now in July of 2019, a week before my daughter's first birthday, his Leukemia returned.

He's been working with the best doctors in two states, and all parties agree a bone marrow transplant is the best shot at killing his cancer once and for all and keeping him alive for the long run. I was found to be a half match, and will be his bone marrow donor for a transplant at UT Southwestern in Dallas, since they do not perform this type of transplant in New Mexico where we both live. I'll do my best to keep this page updated with our journey. Thank you all who have shared messages of support, prayer, donations, and kept us in your hearts. Your support and care is truly appreciated.
