Anita Plutte Oma Updates

First post: Nov 17, 2016 Latest post: Dec 28, 2016

On Monday, November 14, we took Oma to the emergency room with constipation and vomiting, thinking she had a bowel obstruction.  After some tests, it was confirmed that she has 7 cm tumor in her sigmoid colon that was blocking her bowel.  The doctors recommended a stent procedure that would open up the bowel and allow for a bowel clean up to prepare for surgery.  Amazingly, the stent became available very quickly and they were able to do the procedure on Thursday that week.  It worked!  And Oma was discharged from the hospital while the biopsy testing is underway.

We were able to enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration with our family and friends, including several skype visits with family across the Atlantic.

We are trusting God to lead the way for the next steps and to keep Oma in His loving care.  On November 29 is her appointment with the surgeon to learn of the test results and hear about options and next steps.
