This CaringBridge site was started to help keep our friends and family updated on Olivia's condition. Olivia was born at 29 weeks weighing 3 lbs. Because of her premature birth she then developed brain bleeds which led to Hydrocephalus. At 9 months she needed to have a shunt implanted in her brain in order to relieve the pressure. Unfortunately, she has a very complex case and has endured over 100 brain surgeries so far in her 18 years. BUT..Olivia will NOT let anything stop her from living her life to the fullest. She has kept up with school no matter what, she has been involved with swimming, soccer, floor hockey and softball. She enjoys her time with friends and family and is also a very strong advocate for Children's Hospital and Hydrocephalus! Thanks for your support!
