Connie Hatten Not Her Story

First post: Sep 17, 2017 Latest post: Mar 29, 2018
We believe that our Father has a Story written for our lives before we are ever born.   All of our stories share similarities, but each one is a unique journey of love, loss, and victory.  In 2006, Connie's sister, Melinda, lost her fight with breast cancer.  Her story ended with a tragedy that deeply scarred the hearts of everyone who loved her.

In August of 2017, Connie was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer.  The most logical, terrifying thing to assume was that Connie's Story was going to be a repeat of Melinda's Story.  Our minds were under constant assault by fear and anxiety.   BUT GOD...

With every moment of fear, our loving Father drew us in through His love.  Throughout the days of waiting for the pathology report and subsequent scans,  the hard questions surfaced..."Is God really good?" ..."Does He really love me?"  Along with the questions, the words of Jesus telling us in the Gospel of Matthew rang in our hearts..."Do not be anxious"...this is a commandment, not a suggestion.  But how?  How can we stare down our worst nightmare and not worry?

"With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." - Jesus

The initial shock and terror crashed over us for days...BUT GOD, being so much greater than circumstances, put a battle cry in our hearts right from the beginning:

CONNIE'S story is NOT Melinda's short, Connie declares "NOT MY STORY" and we declare "NOT HER STORY!"

We believe that Connie will be healed completely...not for our comfort, but FOR HIS GLORY!
