Norine Schmidt

Norine has been experiencing significant pain that was attributed to her known spinal issues. While she was at the shore for her usual birthday shore trip, she was forced to return home due to the intolerable pain.  It was finally agreed she would go to the hospital  for a scan in order to treat the pain.  After the scan she was hospitalized for continued testing.  To everyone's shock and horror, is was discovered that she has advanced cancer that has spread to her bones-the reason for her severe pain.  As much as we want them, there are not treatment options. After several days of being in the hospital it was decided to transfer her to the Villa Marie Claire, a hospice center. She arrived at the villa on Saturday August 4th. 


We will be using this site to keep our loved ones updated on her day to day and to share our love and support for Norine at this time. 


Since arriving at the Villa we have been taking things one day at a time. She has been aleart and picking on all the nurses, in true Norine fashion. The outpouring of love and well wishes has been tremendous and has her feeling beyond blessed. We hope you understand that visiting may be short and sweet some days and other she will be able to spend more time enjoying others company.
