(This was written a few days ago but wanted to include it for background info for you.) I’m a friend of Norbert & Sondra and wanted to give a quick update on what has been happening lately. Sondra was admitted to Good Samaritan Hospital last Weds as she was having trouble catching her breath, which turned out to be bronchitis. Then Norbert was admitted the next day,Thursday, due to bone pain and was diagnosed with bone mets. Luckily they were in the same hospital, same floor and just two doors away from each other. Of course, being on chemo and oxygen didn’t stop Sondra from wheeling herself down to Norb’s room to visit and for support.
Sondra was released from the hospital on Saturday and is homeand on oxygen until her breathing is fully recovered. Norbert expects to get radiation today torelieve his bone pain. He’ll betransferred to Sunrise Senior Living in Westminster either today or tomorrowfor palliative care as they don’t want him walking due to the fragility of hisbones.
Because of Sondra’s fatigue and oxygen issues, I suggested this website to bring everyone up to date on Norbert’s condition. Sondra will write a detailed update on this website as soon as she can and tell you when Norbert will be transferred to Sunrise. I’m sure he’d appreciate a card or note from friends and family.
