On Saturday, June 26 at 12:01 am, Noble, Dylan, Daniel and Marco (4 running buddies) were returning home from a trip to Branson, MO. They were in Russell, Kansas during a thunderstorm when they were hit from behind while driving on I-70.  Dylan and Daniel suffered concussions and abrasions, Marco and Noble were on the drivers side of the car and had more extensive injuries.  Marco suffered a shattered ankle, several vertebrae fractures from his neck to his sacrum, a broken sternum, and a lesion on his liver.  Noble's neck was broken at C5 which also damaged his spinal cord.   Dylan and Daniel were released from the hospital on Saturday.  Marco was taken to a larger hospital 70 miles from the scene.   Noble was flown to Wichita, 160 miles from the Russell hospital where originally taken from the accident.

In Wichita, Noble had 2 emergency surgeries.  The first was to remove C5 which was in 2 pieces and fuse the C4 and C6 vertebrae from the front of his neck.   The 2nd surgery she did from the back of his neck  to fuse the back of those vertebrae.  He has feeling in his body and legs but no movement.  He can move his arms, but does not have dexterity in his fingers.  He was talking to everyone throughout transportation (answering Daniel's questions when they were in the ER) through surgery.  He was good after surgery.  His first words in recovery were "Mom! Mom, I'm OK!".   Below is Noble's story.  We are believing that he will have a full recovery and he will run again!
