Here is Noah's story....

A few months ago, around October/November of 2020, Noah mentioned that he was having a hard time finding the words he wanted to say while at work.  He never had this problem at home so we didn't think anything of it.  The word finding became more frequent and we thought it was due to stress that was going on.  Then the headaches came and they became more intense.

On Monday, December 14th, Noah and I went to see a doctor to tell him what was going on.  He did some lab work and ordered a brain MRI that was scheduled for December 17th at 8am.  Early Tuesday, the 15th in the morning, Noah woke up in severe pain.  Nothing helped and he just wanted to sleep.  He had also been having a cold, painful sensation in his nose that had become more intense.  Being the stubborn person he is, he did not want to go in to the ER to be seen and said he could wait until the MRI.  Finally on Wednesday night, he couldn't take it anymore and I brought him into the Cloquet ER.  We arrived and they started an IV, drew blood work, and sent him to imaging for a CT scan.  He was also tested for COVID which came back negative.  He came back from CT and the doctor came in to the deliver the news.  The first words out of her mouth were "do you have family around?"  I knew right then and there that something was wrong.  She stated the CT showed "something."  They had consulted with a Neurosurgeon at Essentia and they were not sure what it was.  She said it was either a mass, tumor, or infection.  Noah was transferred via ambulance to Essentia where they performed an MRI which gave a clearer picture of what was going on.  Noah was diagnosed with a 5.5 cm left temporal brain tumor.  He was started on steroids to reduce the swelling, seizure medications to prevent seizures (which he has not had and we pray he doesn't start), and pain medication.   Noah was referred to Mayo for a consult and surgery.  Noah and Jenny will go to Mayo on December 22nd to meet with a team there to find out the next step.  Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers, especially Noah, during this time.
