As many of you know - Mom had Deep Brain Stimulator surgery this past winter.  She has suffered from disabling tremors and dystonia for many years.  She had three surgeries in February and March to do the implants in the hopes of alleviating the symptoms.  It was noted that shortly after the 3rd one - where they put the lead into the right brain - her left side started to hurt.  She has had severe neuropathy since then - on her left arm/hand, left ribs and side, and her left leg.  We felt this was due to the surgery since it correlated so well with the timing and side of the brain.  She has been to many appointments and specialists since then - without much resolve. 

Last week we met with a neuromuscular specialist at the Univ of MN - and after an EMG - he felt it was actually not related to the surgery and sent us on another pathway and our new journey. 

Since that time she had CT scans which showed a lung mass on the left.  She had a bronchoscopy in Alexandria on Monday of this week - but it was non-confirmatory due to where the mass is.  She had a PET scan yesterday and a specialized bronchoscopy in St. Cloud today.  It did confirm that the lung mass is cancerous.  The PET scan showed only one other area on the cervical spine - but an MRI last week before we knew about this did not mention anything bad at that spot.  So we will know more about that spot next week.  We see oncology next week for a better idea and what the plan will be - as well as the finalized pathology.  We will keep you posted but appreciate prayers in the meantime!
