In August, I was diagnosed with Bile Duct cancer. It has a fancy name (Cholangiocarcinoma) that only oncologists can pronounce. It's considered a type of liver cancer, so they both share the Kelly green ribbon. Anyway, after pretty much every known tumor detecting test known to science, we've determined I've got a sizable tumor (or a cluster of tumors) in my liver. Unfortunately, it has also spread to the nearby lymph nodes. I've got a great care team, headed up by Dr. Kimmie Ng at Dana Farber Cancer Institute. I started chemo on Aug 31st. I'll be heading into Boston for treatments.
