Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On Saturday, February 20th, as Nick was getting ready to take William to soccer, he had a seizure.  In addition to the seizure, he fell and hit his head.  Nick took a ride in the ambulance and was given several tests including a CT Scan and two different types of MRIs.  The tests revealed a large mass on his temporal lobe.  Nick had a craniotomy on March 30th.  The surgery removed 99% of the tumor.  He then got a staph infection and had a washout procedure.  After being at home for only 1 day, he went back to the ER and was admitted for hydrocephalus.  They tried a lumbar drain and then a ventriculostomy, but ended up having to put in a shunt to control swelling and his cerebrospinal fluid levels.  He spent a lot of time in  and out of the ICU throughout all of those procedures.  He has now finished  33 radiation treatments  and  6 months of oral chemo for anaplastic ogliodendroglioma  WHO grade 3 at Roger Maris in Fargo.

The journey continues.
