Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
Richard, aka Rick, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's on March 6 of 2017. My heart broke that day. After I pouted for months we decided we wouldn't let that define us and we traveled and did many fun things last year. We plan to do way more of that. We had a blast last year.
I decided this year that I would start this site as more of a diary for me and his docs but to also keep others informed of our day to day lives. It's not something I plan to update daily, maybe not even weekly unless there's an event I feel needs to be noted. There have been 4 that I'm doing my best not to forget that I'll put down in my first entry. Other than that, please send him notes of encouragement, love and support. Know that he's a trooper and does not let this or anything else slow him down. If you know his health history, you'll know this as truth.
Lastly, the title of this page.........I heard this song at least a decade ago sitting in church of all places. I decided that was our song even though he's not an "our song" kind of guy. He's had many a struggle health-wise and we've faced them all together and this won't be any different.
New Day Robbie Seay Band
I'm gonna sing this song to let you know that you're not alone And if you're like me, you need hope, coffee and melody So sit back down and let the world keep spinning 'round For yesterday's gone and today is waiting on you to show your face
And it might not be the prettiest thing that you'll ever see But it's a new day, ah baby, it's a new day And it might not look like a beautiful sunrise But it's a new day, ah baby, it's a new day
I'm a pilgrim soul, I've traveled far and come back home And this land is hard and cold for those who long to love And I know it might seem that the world is crumbling But it's me and you dancing in the kitchen at 2 A.M. and we're still alive (I've always changed this part to "we're still in love". Just a me thing.)
And it might not be the prettiest thing that you'll ever see But it's a new day, ah baby, it's a new day And it might not look like a beautiful sunrise But it's a new day, ah baby, it's a new day
It's the calm of the storm that comes blowing in It's the springtime saying I'm back again The clouds that roll by crossing moonlight Me and you, love, everything's alright
Standing in the rain with nowhere to go Laughing and we're spinning and I hope that you Remember this day for the rest of your life Me and you, love, everything's gonna be alright
And it just might be the prettiest thing that you'll ever see Well it's a new day, ah baby, it's a new day If you look outside to see a beautiful sunrise Well it's a new day, ah new day, it's a new day
And it just might be the prettiest thing that you'll ever see Well it's a new day, ah baby, it's a new day If you look outside to see a beautiful sunrise Oh it's a new day, it's a new day, it's a new day
It's the calm of the storm that comes blowing in It's the springtime saying I'm back again The clouds that roll by crossing moonlight Me and you, love, everything's alright
Standing in the rain with nowhere to go Laughing and we're spinning and I hope that you Remember this day for the rest of your life Me and you, love, everything's gonna be alright
I'm gonna sing this song to let you know that you're not alone And if you're like me, you need hope, coffee and melody
