Neil O'Malley

There is no time like "Crisis" time to remind us of how blessed we are with so many family members and friends who would like a continual update on our well-being.   So once again, we turn to CaringBridge to aid in the accuracy and speed of communications.  Neil was admitted to Virginia Mason yesterday with a diagnosis of Renal Failure due to a very high level of Calcium which the Kidneys would not process.  Initially, it was suggested that Dialysis was imminent, but the attending physician in the ER agreed to try a fast bombardment of IV fluids to try to flush some of the Calcium through.  As of this evening, this process has reduced the Calcium, but the prospect of Dialysis is still on the table.  We should have further decisions on Thursday, which I will post as soon as they are confirmed.  I am curled up in bed, trying to find a little humor to add, but alas, nothing comes to mind :(  Please post your thoughts and prayers in this venue, and I will make sure that Neil sees them during his brief waking moments.  We appreciate each and every one of you!
