On Friday night at about 10:30, March 19, 2021, I was at home in El Paso and received the type of call that no loved one ever wants to hear:  "This is Santa Fe police. Your husband has been in an accident and he has been transported to the emergency room trauma unit at St. Vincent's hospital with multiple serious injuries."  Me: "What happened?" Officer: “He was a pedestrian hit by a car and thrown at least 20 feet. It was a hit and run."  I immediately called the emergency room, and they recounted the injuries and urged me to drive up overnight.
