Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On February 19, 2017 Nathan was injured in a car accident.  He was a passenger in the back seat when the driver hit a tree.   Nathan suffered fractures to his cervical spine and a severe injury to his cervical spinal cord.

At University of Maryland Shock Trauma Hospital, neurosurgeons performed surgery to fuse and stabilize his anterior cervical spine on Feb 19.

On Feb 20 Nathan had to again undergo surgery to fuse and stabilize his posterior spine.

Both surgeries lasted over 7 hours and Nathan was able to tolerate them well.

Currently he is able to move his arms, but he cannot move his legs.  The doctors are hoping for further recovery, but they say the extent is difficult to predict.

Nathan received a tracheostomy so that he could continue to use the ventilator while he regained the strength to breath on his own.

We ask you to
-   please pray for Nathan
-   please write on the caring bridge page
