July 22, 2017 Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Natalie has been having back pain for about a month. As the pain became increasingly worse and consistent she had an MRI yesterday, then a CT scan. The head of radiology called us immediately to let us know that Natalie, had one large tumor in her pelvic area and several tumors in the rest of her body. We were immediately admitted to Blank Children's hospital. Natalie had a biopsy, bone marrow biopsy, cancer confirmed and a port put in. We have now confirmed her diagnosis as Stage III Large B cell Lymphoma and the Burkitts strain. This morning they are doing a sedated Lumber puncture to make sure the cancer hasn't crossed the blood barrier into the brain. She will also have an echo cardiogram to confirm her heart strength. The plan is to start chemo later this afternoon, with an aggressive treatment of several types. For now we know her treatment plan will be around 9-12 months. A week in the hospital with chemo and then home for around 3 weeks with weekly clinical visits. That will be the routine. Please pray for all of Natalies organs to be strong in processing and getting rid of the chemo and the tumors as they die. Pray for her pain to be decreased and managed. The cancer is fast growing but the Dr encourages us that it is also fast responding to the chemo and it's ability to kill it. We welcome visitors for short visits. You are welcome to come and pray in the lobby also or also right outside her door there is a setting area, 409. We'd love the prayers. We will give more updates on this page as they come. Thank you for your support and prayers. *Natalie cannot have fresh flowers or plants right now.
