Thank you for
visiting Natalee's caringbridge site. All of your thoughts, prayers, support, love, and
words of encouragement are very welcome and deeply appreciated. As you may have
heard, Natalee was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma in the right side of her
pelvis on August 26 of this year. Ewing sarcoma is a rare bone cancer that
occurs primarily in children and young adults with only 200 to 250 new cases
each year in the United States. Typical treatment involves chemotherapy,
radiation and surgery. However, since Natalee's cancer is located in her
pelvis, surgery will not be an option. She will start chemo very soon, then
move onto radiation and end with another round of chemo. All of this will take
about a year. This cancer will be treated aggressively and the doctors at the
Children's Hospital of Wisconsin are very positive about the outcome. Natalee is
anxious but is staying positive and strong. Please check back regularly as I
will continue to post updates on where Natalee's treatment is at. If you do
have any questions or thoughts that you would like addressed, please post them
and I will respond to them as quickly as possible. Thank you again for your
love and support.
