Nashay Liggins (Hubbard)

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. On Wednesday December 11th Shay's parents received the call no parent ever wants to get. Shay was injured when the car she was riding in slid on ice and left the road, hitting a tree. The driver and the other four passengers (two of which were Shay's youngest, Abigail and Aubrianna).  were all treated and released either at the scene or from neighboring medical facilities with minor or no injuries. Shay had to be cut out of the vehicle roof, she was conscious and alert upon  emergency rescue arrival. It's felt that Shay did what any mom would do and stayed strong until she knew her children were  safe and unharmed. She then succumbed to her injuries and crashed (rapid decline in mental status, respiration, pressures, etc) in the ambulance. At this time she was intubated and airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center where she is currently being treated.  Shay is mom to four beautiful children. Daelon, Riley, Aubrianna and Abigail. She is very much loved by many. Please keep Shay, her children and family in your thoughts and prayers during the long road ahead.  While we love to hear from everyone and appreciate that you want to help and that you are thinking of us, please keep in mind that our main focus is Shay. It's very trying, exhausting and overwhelming right now and we have a lot of balls in the air.  Please don't take it personally if we don't respond to a text or call, just know we appreciate you reaching out, but we just need some time right now to focus.
