Shirley Kimmons Nanny's Journey

First post: 1/16/2016 Latest post: 2/7/2016
Nanny (Shirley) suffered a bad fall the end of August, 2015, sustaining severe head trauma (concussion, subaracnoid bleeds, brain hematoma). After a week in ICU, she was transferred to a rehab facility. Her rehab had good results, eventually regaining most of her speech and mobility. Her macular degeneration also progressed during this time, and she is no longer able to adequately see. In light of her extensive needs, it was decided that she would be safer remaining in the rehab-nursing facility. Nikki works here, so she frequently pops in daily to check on her, and I live about 5 miles away and go by several times a week. Lisa comes up at least once a week. Nanny is adjusting, has a roommate she really likes. She is where she needs to be. I created this page so friends & family can stay updated on her progress & daily life.
