Nan Kern

Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated with Nan's progress.  
 
As you may already know, Nan was recently diagnosed with lung cancer even though she has never smoked.  Nan is receiving care through the hospital system of Saint Louis University where Gillian (her daughter) works. Nan is still undergoing testing to determine the severity of her prognosis and set up a care plan. 

 


For those of you who are just finding out, Nan has been sick since October 2017. What seemed like a cold morphed into what seemed like a persistent case of pneumonia. After meeting with lots of doctors and getting second opinions we found out that it is lung cancer – a diagnosis no one ever wants to receive.   


Since there are many people who want to know what is going on, but it can be difficult to reach everyone (and exhausting to keep having the same conversation over and over), we are intending to use this CaringBridge site to keep everyone up-to-date and provide you with an opportunity to submit your own messages.
