KWelcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On Tuesday, September 27, 2016, Nan (our mom) had open heart surgery at JFK Hospital to replace three blocked arteries and repair some damage to her heart. Apparently sometime in the past she had a silent heart attack that she did not know about and her arteries were severely blocked. Fortunately the surgery went well; however, she had a very difficult first week of recovery. She experienced certain aspects of "sundowning" including hallucinating and trying to escape the hospital. Fortunately Randi was able to be with her day and night as Susan is unable to even visit her, let alone take care of her.

Yesterday afternoon (October 3) she was moved from JFK hospital to the VI care center which is on the same campus  as her apartment. She is doing much better and will continue to strengthen and improve with the physical therapy and care she will get at the VI care center. Should you want to call or visit her, the phone number is 561 – 963–2100 (tel:561 – 963–2100) and her room is 16 DOOR. You can also post messages on this website which Bud will read to her when he visits.

Thank you for your love and concern. Please continue to include her in your prayers. L'Shana Tova.
