On the evening of January 30th, Nancy was involved in an off-road vehicle accident on her way home. She suffered a concussion, broken shoulder blade, and an incomplete C6 spinal cord injury. Doctors believed at this point that she would be a quadriplegic. After several weeks of surgery and rest at Kennestone Hospital Nancy moved to The Shepherd Center in Atlanta to receive therapy for her spinal cord injury. While at the Shepherd Center Nancy has regained some control over her arm and hand movement, as well as learning to maneuver a wheelchair and other life skills.
