Psalm 9:1 says "I will give thanks to you LORD, with all my heart. I will tell of all your wonderful deeds." This verse really spoke to me this morning as I began writing out my most recent life journey concerning my heart. God has clearly put His mighty hand on me from the beginning of this journey when a completely unrelated physical problem revealed that I had a heart condition that needed attention. When my doctor referred me to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, I had no idea that God would place my care in the hands of two of the top cardiologists in the country and one of the top surgeons who specializes in the procedure I am having this Tuesday. In the midst of three days of tests, procedures and doctor consultations (a total of 22!!!), He even provided some new Christian friends who were also at Mayo Clinic looking for answers. We prayed together, shared meals together, attended church together, laughed together and prayed more! On Tuesday, August 8, I will be having open heart surgery to correct a condition called Hypertrophic Obstructed Cardiomyopathy. Basically, I have a bulge on my heart muscle that restricts the blood flow. The bulge will be removed, which will allow the blood to flow properly through my heart. A few days after that surgery, they will be putting in a defibrillator which will take care of what they described as an "electrical" problem with the heart. I am looking forward to being on the other side of this surgery and sharing even more of the wonderful deeds that Jesus will be doing in my life. I am thanking the Lord for all of you and for all of your prayers!
